Dear guests, we are closed from 1 November to 18 December. You can still reach us by phone and e-mail – and if nobody picks up, we will get back to you within 24 hours.
At the Poppengut you are the guest of a family: Herbert and Andrea have shaped this house over many years, Grigoriy and Elisabeth bring a breath of fresh air – and in the middle of it all is our dog Jasper.
In summer you walk the mountains of the Pyhrn-Priel region, in winter you head for the slopes of the Höss. Afterwards the pool and sauna are waiting, good food and a large garden to breathe in.
The Relax- & Wanderhotel Poppengut is a family-run 4-star hiking hotel in Hinterstoder in the Stodertal valley, Upper Austria, at the foot of the Großer Priel. The house has 40 rooms, gourmet half board with a five-course dinner, as well as a bathing pavilion with an indoor and an outdoor pool and a sauna area. Guided walks are offered on three to five days a week. In winter the free ski bus takes you to the Hössbahn in just two minutes. Rooms with gourmet half board start at € 108 per person per night, plus € 3 local tax per person per night.

Our Landhauszimmer are junior suites with a balcony facing the garden; shower/bath and WC are in separate rooms. They come in two sizes: this one with approx. 37 m² and a larger one with an extra children's or single room (approx. 45 m²).

All routes & trailsWe set out with you in winter as well – through snow-covered forests up to the alpine pastures and on into the Totes Gebirge. If there is enough snow we go on snowshoes, otherwise on foot along cleared paths. Snowshoes and poles are free to borrow for our house guests.

How to find us
From the B 138 it is another twelve quiet kilometres into the Stodertal, with the Großer Priel always in view. The Poppengut is in Hinterstoder, only about two minutes from the village centre.
By train: to Hinterstoder – we will pick you up free of charge. Airport transfer from Vienna with Riedler Reisen.
